Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed
The Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands is responsible, with others, for managing the Netherlands’ movable and immovable heritage. Whenever historic, archaeological, cultural landscape or arts and crafts values are at stake, the Agency takes the lead in ensuring the conservation, statutory protection, conservation and investigation of the country’s heritage. The keywords are quality and sustainability. In cases where no national or international values are involved, the Agency lobbies other authorities and public and private sector parties to manage our heritage in accordance with universally accepted standards.
As part of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science the Cultural Heritage Agency operate under the direct responsibility of the Minister.
